About Us
Bio: William (Mike) LeBleu President/Owner
After serving two enlistment terms in the United States Army, Mike LeBleu began his career in the Fire Protection Industry working for the State of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia Hospitals in 1984. Working as the Fire Systems Supervisor at VCU/MCV Hospitals for 13 ½ years, managing the Inspection and Testing program of the University's fire protection systems, and a staff of Inspection Technicians and Safety Inspections and Safety Training of University and Hospital Staff and Students. During this time, while working full time during the day, attended VCU part time working toward a BA in English in the evenings.
In 1997 continuing a career in Fire Protection with VSC Fire & Security Inc., for the next 22 years he held positions of Senior Inspection Technician, Richmond District Inspection Department Supervisor, and for the last 12 years at VSC, for the Corporate Office assigned the task of training and managing all Inspection and Service Technicians and Managers at the 19 Districts in 9 states at those VSC offices. The majority of that time was spent regularly travelling throughout the Southeast, from Maryland to Florida, into Alabama and Arkansas, implementing and training staff to use the Inspection and Management software applications adopted by the company, managing and advising the Districts in the performance of their inspection operations, as well as training and evaluating the Technicians in their Inspection procedures and performance.
In early 2021 he took a position with Fire Solutions Inc. as the Training and Alarm and Sprinkler System Design Manager; administering and implementing the inspection and service software program platform they chose to adopt.
At VCU/MCVH, VSC Fire & Security and Fire Solutions Inc. designing and implementing the Fire Protection System inspection report packages has played a major part of the contributions to those employers, as well as implementing and administering the software platforms for Inspection and management of the Customer and Jobs databases, as well as management of the workforce (Inspection and Service Technicians). Working with Asurio and their BirdDog program, and later ServiceTrade to develop a viable, reliable platform to achieve the inspection and management goals has been one of the primary focuses of the later part of a career that has spanned 36 years, so far.
In late 2021, relying on all the experience and lessons of a long career, Mike has begun a new phase by starting a Fire Protection and Backflow Prevention Device Inspection and Testing Service company: AATW Life Safety & Backflow, LLC
Fully licensed and insured in the State of Virginia for Fire Sprinkler Inspection and Backflow Device Testing. Over 25 years of Backflow Device testing experience, and holding a NICET Level III Water-based Fire Protection System Inspection and Testing certification for many years, he has worked in industrial facilities, petro-chemical plants, commercial buildings and high-rises, power generation plants, Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Assisted Living and Daycare facilities, hotels, apartment complexes, condominium resorts and residential environments.
With substantial experience and knowledge he has provided extensive training on inspection/testing/servicing of Sprinkler Systems, Fire Pumps, Fire Alarm Systems, Low & High Expansion Foam Systems, Low & High Pressure CO2 Systems, Halon and Clean Agent Systems, Water Mist Systems, Industrial Dry Chemical Systems, Portable Fire Extinguishers, Emergency Exit Lights, Fire Doors; and has logged numerous SCUBA Dives performing internal inspections, repairs and cleaning services inside Fire Protection Water Storage Tanks and Open Water Retaining Supply Sources.
Now in a leadership role at AATW Life Safety & Backflow, LLC he stands ready to provide superior inspection and testing service for your fire protection system needs.
